DAY 3 – 4th July 2022
Rising Bridge to Duckworth Arms on the A56 near Edenfield – 23.25 miles plus another mile to the Eagle and Child south along the main road.
Ascent 3,326ft
Stages 56 to 53 (E14 to E11).
There is a cafe at the Clough Head car park. The Strawberry Duck at Entwistle is just off the route but the main source of food is the village of Edgworth. There is a local store with pies, an ice cream shop with other provisions and a pub, the White Horse.
Stayed at the Eagle and Child, a great pub with good food and views across the valley back to the Peel Monument.

The climb up out of the valley from the Graine takes in the trig point on Hog Lowe Pike. Another overcast day!

Blue sky as we make our way around the Wayoh Reservoir and the railway viaduct just south of Entwistle, with its railway station.

On the other side of the Wayoh Reservoir after visiting the summit of Cheetham Close, Turton Towers and the Jumbles Reservoir.
