Walking Books of Lancashire
The Lancashire Way website includes lots of ideas for day circular walks that enable you to complete the whole of the Lancashire Way or just explore the wonderful county of Lancashire. However, I appreciate that some of the Stages are long and probably not accessible for some. I am therefore sometimes asked for recommendations as to alternatives that will enable them to walk some of the best parts of Lancashire. There are many walking books that will achieve this and most have some merit so you can rarely go wrong. However, I would single out the following two which are both published by Cicerone and written by Terry Marsh. They cover two of the main walking areas in Lancashire and include maps, detailed directions and background to places of interest. There are 70 walks in total across the two books and I am glad to say that 42 of these include part of the Lancashire Way. Both printed books currently retail have a recommended retail price of £12.95 but are currently being offered at £10.76 on the Cicerone website (www.cicerone.co.uk). Furthermore if you put in the following Discount code at the checkout you will receive a 25% reduction in this price making it a great value purchase. The code is LWTMB. Happy reading and walking!
